A little about myself
I’ve been behind the camera for over 15 years, with a passion for capturing people, places and the moments that matter. My photography journey began with my love of the great outdoors and Scotland’s incredible landscapes, before naturally growing into event and wedding photography,. Over the years, I have had the privilege of photographing all kinds of special occasions, and I never take for granted the trust petiole place in me to capture moments that will last a lifetime.
We are a close photography family too. My wife Gillian managaed a photographic shop in Edinburgh for many years, while my late father-in-law worked as a camera sales representative across Scotland. Som in may ways, caners and photography have always been a part of family life.
Before photography became my passion, I also spend several years working in theatre lighting in London’s West End. Although I have since changed direction, many of the skills I developed in the theatre continue to influence my photography today. Understanding light, atmosphere, timing, and composition., while knowing when to step back and simply observe, are all hugely valuable skulls that I now bring to photographing weddings and other events,
I moved to Scotland from Kent 28 years ago, and it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with this incredible country. From the dramairtc mountains and rugged coastlines to quiet lochs and hidden corners, I love nothing than getting outdoors and exploring Scotland with a camera in hand. That love of the Scottish landscape has become a huge part of my photography today and gives me real appreciation for beatify locations, natural light and making the most of whatever surrounds your wedding day brings.
Away from photography, I am married to my lovely wife Gillian and together we have three children, and our wonderful four-legged companion Suzy. Family is incredible important to e,m which is perhaps why I enjoy wedding photography so much - I understand just how meaningful it is to have the people you love list together run one place, celebrating something truly speck.
I feel incredibly honoured to be part of so many important occasions, from engagement parties and weddings to grading parries and community events. I have also have the privilege of ophtograsphing some truly memorable Scottish occasions, including the Highland Lands and the incredible Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Whether its a large-scale event or an intimate wedding surrounded by your closeted family and friend, my aim is always the same, to tell the sooty of your day naturally, authentically and beatifically. I want to capture the laughter, the emotion, the atmosphere and those fleeting moments that make your day uniquely yours - creating photographs that bring those memories back to life for years to come.
